Now these lovely ladies are my young women's group. We decided that for an activity we were going to focus on the traits of girls. We each wrote something up on the chalkboard--either a word or phrase--that came to mind when we thought of the girl. Some are silly, some are more personal, but the spirit definitely filled the room. The girls were not allowed to look at the words that were written about them, they didn't even get to see them for a full month! We gave them each their pictures at New Beginnings, as they looked at the pictures and what all the girls had written about them smiles crossed their faces. Sometimes we feel inadequate and unable to meet the bar that is set so high in this world today. It is becoming harder and harder to keep our standards and feel beautiful. We judge ourselves the harshest, and often times don't let these go. But when we see what others truly think of us, our confidence becomes more full, we feel as if we have done something right. I believe in the power of Charity. We can give a simple wave, smile, or even a compliment to someone to help them move along this great course of life--for we never know what battles people are fighting.
